Robins & Morton Begins Construction on Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital

MIAMI, FL — Construction firm Robins & Morton, Anchor Health Properties, Baptist Health South Florida, and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, announce the beginning of construction of the new Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital in South Miami, Florida.

The three-story, 100,000-square-foot facility will feature 62 private inpatient rooms, with the capacity to open an additional 30 private rooms. It will offer specialized treatment for patients with brain or spinal cord injuries, as well as select cardiac, oncology, orthopedic, and stroke patients.

“Our partnership with Lifepoint Rehabilitation underscores our dedication to expanding health care services and improving outcomes for patients,” said Ronald Tolchin, D.O., Chair of Nonsurgical Spine Care and Rehabilitation, and Kalman Bass Endowed Chair in Pain and Rehabilitative Medicine at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. “This new rehabilitation hospital will enhance our ability to provide comprehensive care as part of a continuum to treat individuals recovering from complex injuries or illnesses.”

Designed with patient comfort and recovery in mind, the freestanding facility will have adaptive units, multidisciplinary therapy gyms equipped with the latest therapeutic technologies, and outdoor spaces designed to further support patients in their transition back to daily living activities.

The building will also include a three-story parking garage with capacity for 179 parking spaces to ensure access for patients and visitors.

The facility is scheduled to open in 2026. Robins & Morton is the general contractor for the project, and ESa is the architect.
