With over 20 years of experience, including 12 years at SmithGroup, Perrone delves into higher education clients’ processes and institutional goals, arriving at a shared vision for how the built environment can support students. She has led complex projects for institutions like the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and Northern Arizona University, as well as the development of engaged learning typologies.
“Carrie’s work pushes the boundaries of the typical to champion engaging, student-centered environments,” said Chris Purdy, Higher Education Practice Director at SmithGroup. “She consistently leads her clients through a collaborative process that directly responds to the specific priorities of their institutions.”
Perrone will collaborate with multidisciplinary experts locally and across the firm’s Higher Education, Campus Planning, and Campus Strategy & Analytics teams. Perrone graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arizona. She is a licensed Architect, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a LEED AP Certified Professional.
