As President, Petersen will provide executive leadership over The Walsh Group’s national water and wastewater construction operations, which rank among the largest in the United States. Petersen will provide executive direction on new business initiatives, customer outreach, staffing, training, project management systems, and field operations.
Petersen takes over the Water Division President responsibilities from his predecessor Roy Epps, who served as President from 2020 to 2023 and grew the Water Division into a $1 billion annual program. Epps will remain with The Walsh Group to serve in a senior advisory role and will be the executive sponsor of the firm’s Walsh Group Leadership Initiative program.
“We are thrilled to announce Duane as President and continue to see our water leadership thriving and growing from within,” said Daniel P. Walsh Jr., representing the fourth generation of family ownership at The Walsh Group. “Duane brings nearly three decades of experience and proven expertise at Walsh, with many of those recent years working side-by-side with Roy Epps, who we thank dearly for his commitment to excellence during his tenure as President and his 25 years at Walsh.”
Petersen has more than 28 years of experience and 24 years with The Walsh Group, previously serving as Chief Operations Officer and Vice President of Southeast Water Operations, respectively. Petersen will lead the development, growth, and success of The Walsh Group’s Water Division, while directing management teams, developing and fostering relationships with customers, and upholding the company’s commitment to safety, quality, and ethics. Petersen will continue to enhance The Walsh Group’s brand, customer service, project delivery methods, and expand its portfolio of work across some of the largest treatment plant and pump station projects in the United States and Canada.
