HARRISBURG, PA — Atlas Technical Consultants, Inc. (Atlas), an infrastructure and environmental solutions provider, announces that it has been selected to provide environmental services to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) to support its Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) Reclamation Program. PADEP’s AML Reclamation Program is responsible for managing AML problems that have resulted from past coal mining practices including mining impacted water supplies, mine subsidence, open shafts and portals, and other hazards.

PADEP will receive $244 million annually from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law over the next 15 years to address Pennsylvania’s abandoned mine lands, of which a portion will be used to engage companies such as Atlas to provide environmental services in support of the program. Under Atlas’ five-year contract with PADEP, Atlas will have the opportunity to be selected by PADEP to provide feasibility studies, geophysical investigations, professional design services, and other technical services as required for the reclamation of AML and associated mine-water impacts.
